Unikaangit (Book)

US$13.50

Created as part of a Youth Fusion project in Nunavik and produced by Anorak Studio, this collection of seven legends presents works drawn in part by students from the Innalik school in Inukjuak. Stories that are meaningful for some, amusing or frightening for others, these legends are the anchor of Inuit culture, transmitted from generation to generation through oral tradition.

Éditions Hannenorak / Maude Ostiguy-Lauzon / Wazak / Youth Fusion / Anorak Studio

EXTRACTS: Sedna rules the depths of the waters. She holds power over animals as well as the brave hunters who dare to sail the northern seas. Sedna's story is that of a woman married against her will.

While trying to free her, her father cut off her fingers. They fell into the water and transformed into sea animals.
